About Me

Dr. Blaise J. Ferrandino is a Composer and Professor and Division Chair of Music Theory and Composition at Texas Christian University. 

 

Ferrandino’s compositions have received notable performances by ensembles such as the Eastman School of Music Trombone Ensemble, the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, at places such as the Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, as well as all across the United States and Asia. He has written works by commission and invitation for organizations such as the International Society of Double Bassists and the International Tuba Euphonium Association. 

 

Dr. Ferrandino has written extensively for the brilliant applied instrument and vocal faculty over the last three decades at Texas Christian University, with over one hundred performances given on faculty and ensembles concerts, as well as momentous University events. Since July 2013, he has served on faculty for the Clear Creek Festival in Halfway, Oregon, where he mentors young composers as well as writes a substantial annual composition. Besides his work as a composer Ferrandino is a Music Theorist and Double Bassist. His degrees are from Ithaca College, Syracuse University, and the Hartt School. Dr. Ferrandino has served as the Interim Director of the TCU School of Music as well as the President of the Texas Society for Music Theory and is a College Board consultant for Music Theory in the Southwest Region.
